Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Here's a list of words, but it's in Spanish.

I need to do a better job of outlining my class notes and the note cards that students are making. I'm going to revolve this grammar class around the note cards. They should have a list of rules, exceptions, and hints so they can easily reference the grammar rules.

I need to integrate the tests into the cards.

Now do I have the time to do all that? No, but I'll have to.

I think I’m just going to list the activities that I’m covering in Class.

I think the best way to teach Uncountable and Countable nouns would be to simply give an overview, a presentation and then go through some of the key points and then do an activity. I’m thinking a list of countable and uncountable nouns. I don’t want to confuse the kids and I feel that’s what I did yesterday.

With the Tuesday and Thursday class, I should...

The energy is lacking today. I wonder what I can do to get them to wake-up. Should I toss the ball? I’m trying to be hard so they’ll respect me.

Introductions

Tell the class about yourself now.
Tell the class about yourself when you were 8 years old.
Tell the class what you plan on doing when you are an adult.
Tell the class where you would fly to if you were a bird and why.
If you were a condiment, what would you be and why.

I energized the class by having them compete for grades. Competition is a great caffeine.

Here's a great link to a site that will let you download Powerpoint Templates for Jeopardy, Price is Right and other popular games. You can then add your own questions for review. I find that games are a great way to teach and these templates make it visually exciting.

Your kids will really think that you put in a lot of effort;they'll be impressed.

Thank you Carol!

The Dum Dum List

2:14 AM Reporter: Daniel Lee Gray 0 Responses
I am back to blogging on this site because I realize that I need to put down some of my ideas so I don't forget them.

Today, I'm proctoring a test so I don't have a lot of grading to do. My students are working hard because I play a little game called the "Dum Dum List." Basically, if the students get an answer wrong then they get a mark by their name on the Dum Dum List. At the end of the class, they have to do an exercise such as jumping jack, sit up, push up, etc, for each answer they get wrong.

It tends to motivate and energize the class because they at least get to move and exercise a bit.
